I'd never been to Nunhead before despite it being just a short bus ride away. However, for some reason I had heard of Nunhead Cemetery and sought it out after the meeting. As soon as I arrived at the gates, I knew I was in for a real treat. Established in 1840 it is known as one of the Magnificent Seven Victorian graveyards built in the 19th Century to deal with the massive rise in the population of London.
As always I had my trusty Canon PowerShot 750 with me and took some snaps as I explored under the pretence of looking for a spot to eat my 'convenience store' (cheap) lunch (aka impromptu picnic). The general feel of the place was peaceful and charming and it didn't seem odd and I didn't feel out of place. The only other people padding about were people with dogs, dogs who were happily dashing about on their padded feet, nice... I resolved to bring Molly on a day out, it's only a short bus ride away and it's something we should do more of....
While I may have been spooked a couple of times in the actual cemetery itself (another story), it wasn't until I came home that the spook really set in.... simply, because later, at home I randomly (?) decided to put a quick film piece together in movie maker on the photos that had been taken, I did this with no music playing in the background (odd?).... I purposefully wasn't drinking at the time (odd?). When all the slides from the Canon 750 were uploaded and put into movie maker, I 'felt' there were a few frames missing.... I had a break and then realised I had a few more frames on my phone.... Finally, I was happy with the upload and ran the final sequence.... Happy with that, I then thought.. "I now need music".... One tune sprang to mind (Joese Gonzalez), and I found it immediately (although my digital music is, honestly..., limited) I then thought 'now the nightmare begins...' to match a random set of pics (admittedly now all equal in their time signature) to a piece of music, that makes sense and works.... Naturally, I then expected to spend the whole night editing... I laid them both down and pressed play and sat in awe because when watched the whole sequence of time, visual image and audio, all fitting together in one massive harmonious mash.....? Then I was really spooked...... But it brought home just how special our London spaces, like Nunhead cemetery, really are...
So here it is, without any management (editing) other than pure serendipity....
